My Committment

As councillor for Northcrest I will work to:

 

• Continue advocating for provincial and federal funding to ensure that the costs of growth are shared fairly and do not place an undue financial burden on existing taxpayers.

 

• Support a Homelessness and Public Safety Strategy built on four guiding principles: helping people in crisis, protecting our neighbourhoods, enforcing fair and reasonable rules, and delivering measurable results for our community.

 

• Complete the Chemong Road expansion as quickly and efficiently as funding allows. Coordinate construction to minimize impacts on local businesses.

 

• Promoting Peterborough as a city that is "Open for Business." I will advocate for the creation of additional serviced employment lands in partnership with the Township of Cavan Monaghan. This initiative would create approximately 137.6 hectares (340 acres) of new employment lands while specifically excluding residential properties and airport lands. Expanding our employment lands will attract new investment, create jobs, strengthen the local economy, and help reduce the tax burden on residential property owners.

 

• With these challenges in mind, I am committed to standing up for Northcrest residents by focusing on affordable property taxes, better traffic flow, safe neighbourhoods, and responsible growth through accountable city spending and well-planned major projects.
