• I am a lifelong resident of Northcrest Ward. Born and raised in Peterborough, I have proudly called the north end home for 74 years. I graduated from Adam Scott Collegiate before earning a Bachelor of Arts from Trent University and a Bachelor of Education from Queen's University.

• For 30 years, I had the privilege of teaching with the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board. During my career, I have a firsthand understanding of the values that have shaped our community and the issues that matter most to residents, both locally and across the city.

• Public service has always been part of my family's history. My uncle, Cam Wasson, served as a city councillor and two-term mayor of Peterborough during the 1970s and 1980s, while my father, Dean Wasson, served as an alderman (now city councillor) during the 1990s. Their commitment to public service inspired my own desire to give back to the community.

• I am especially proud of my children and their accomplishments. All three graduated from Adam Scott Collegiate. My daughter, Dr. Kristy Wasson, continued her education at Cornell University, UCLA, and Thomas Jefferson Medical School before becoming an oncologist at Sunnybrook Hospital. My youngest daughter, Heather, graduated from McGill University and, at the age of 23, became the youngest junior economist hired directly from campus by the federal government. My son, Ryan, lives in Northcrest Ward, where he owns a home in the Milroy subdivision.

• I have a strong connection to Kawartha Food Share, an organization founded by my father. In 2025, it distributed more than $10 million worth of food and emergency supplies, making it a cornerstone of emergency food support throughout the Peterborough region.

• Peterborough has always been my home, and Northcrest Ward has always been my community. Understanding of our city's needs have prepared me to be a strong voice for the residents of Northcrest Ward.
