I have spent my entire life in Northcrest Ward and have a deep understanding of the people, neighbourhoods, and values that make our community such a special place to live. As a lifelong resident, I understand both the opportunities and the challenges facing Northcrest and the City of Peterborough.

 

For 30 years, I served as a teacher with the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board, where I developed strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Throughout my career, I worked with students, parents, colleagues, and community organizations, building consensus, listening to different perspectives, and finding practical solutions.

 

Community service has always been an important part of my life. For decades, I have mentored young people through sport, supported local arts and culture, and remained actively involved in organizations that strengthen our community, including my long-standing connection with Kawartha Food Share. These experiences have reinforced the importance of compassion, teamwork, accountability, and giving back.

 

Public service is also part of my family's history. My uncle, Cam Wasson, served as both a city councillor and a two-term mayor, while my father, Dean Wasson, served as an alderman. Their dedication to serving Peterborough inspired my own commitment to public service.

 

If elected, I will bring integrity, accessibility, and common-sense leadership to City Council. I will listen carefully, make informed decisions, be accountable to residents, and always put the interests of Northcrest Ward and the City of Peterborough first. My goal is to be a councillor who is approachable, transparent, fiscally responsible, and committed to achieving practical results for our community.
